O taste and see that the Lord is good!
the crumbs of Christ are better than the feast of fools!
our souls will be nourished as with fat and rich food,
for the Spirit of the Lord is in the Greek and the Jew!
the children have the bread for they were chosen before
the dogs will be content with the morsels on the floor
for the Father is their portion and their life is in His hand
and their number is as countless as the stars and the sand
the natural and grafted have been saved and reconciled
redeemed and brought together by the blood of Jesus Christ
for the holy ground is level at the foot of Calvary
and the Bread of Heaven satisfies for all eternity
how great among the dogs are the riches of the glory
how great among the children is the wonder of the story
the riches of the glory of the wondrous gospel story
the mystery of Christ in us, the precious hope of glory
O taste and see that the Lord is good!
the crumbs of Christ are better than the feast of fools!
our souls will be nourished as with fat and rich food,
for the Spirit of the Lord is in the Greek and the Jew!
sounding out the wonder
